Basketball Recap: Highland Comes Up Short

If Highland was riding high fresh off their 63-36 takedown of Foothill last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Highland Scots took a 57-43 bruising from the Eastside Lions on Friday. The Scots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Eastside to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jamir Devereaux, who posted 12 points and three steals. Kenneth Harris was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 11 points and nine boards.

Highland's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Eastside, they pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Highland wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 60-48 loss against Tehachapi on the 9th. As for Eastside, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 69-20 win against Palmdale Academy Charter School on the 9th.
