Soccer Recap: Urbana Comes Up Short

Urbana came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Monticello Sages, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, Urbana can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 260th, while Monticello are ranked 126th).

Urbana has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Monticello, the win was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Urbana will take on Danville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Monticello, they will challenge St. Teresa at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
