Volleyball Game Preview: New Lothrop Hornets vs. Ovid-Elsie Marauders

The New Lothrop Hornets will venture away from home to take on the Ovid-Elsie Marauders at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. New Lothrop is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

New Lothrop is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest defeat since September 9th on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to Birch Run.

While New Lothrop was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-23, 25-20.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Ovid-Elsie, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Lakeville with a sharp 3-0 win on Thursday. The Marauders not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since November 6, 2024 (when they won 3-0).

One reason for the win was Ovid-Elsie's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-19, 25-17.

New Lothrop's loss dropped their record down to 3-14-3. As for Ovid-Elsie, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5-2 record this season.
