Alex Moore leads Union Local to victory over Barnesville

The Union Local Jets waltzed into Saturday's contest with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 60-48 victory over Barnesville. Given Union Local's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 36th, while Barnesville is ranked 291st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Union Local can attribute much of their success to Alex Moore, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds. The contest was Moore's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Gannon Kerns, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.

Union Local's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Barnesville, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-3.

Union Local will head out on the road to face off against Beaver at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Barnesville, they will be playing at home against River at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
