Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Cordova). They blew past the Hooper Bay Warriors, posting  an  84-40 win. With that  victory, the Wolverines brought their scoring average up to 51.6  points per game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cordova to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Chiko Jacob, who  dropped  a double-double on 24 points and 11  rebounds. Jacob is becoming a predictor of Cordova's success: when he posts  at  least eight  boards the team is 4-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of  Thomas Nothstine, who  posted 24  points.
 Cordova was working as a unit and  finished the game with 21  assists. That's the most  assists they've managed all season.
 Defeat or not, Hooper Bay got some senior leadership from  Billy Smith and  Daylon Tall.  Smith  put up 13 points, while  Tall  scored 11  points.
The  win (which was Cordova's fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-3. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to  offensive boards: they averaged an imposing 12.2  offensive rebounds in those games compared to only 12.2 in the others. As for Hooper Bay, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.
 Cordova has already played their next matchup,  a  26-20  victory against Petersburg on the 31st. As for Hooper Bay, they also  wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next  contest,  a  62-48  defeat against Lumen Christi on the 31st.
