Basketball Recap: Neiman Quach's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Garden Grove over Rancho Alamitos

After flying high against Tarbut V' Torah last Saturday, Garden Grove came back down to earth. The Garden Grove Argonauts fell 53-43 to the Rancho Alamitos Vaqueros on Saturday. The Argonauts have struggled against the Vaqueros recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Garden Grove lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Neiman Quach, who posted nine points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Ethan Juarez, who put up nine points.

Leading Rancho Alamitos to victory were Osvaldo Ramos and Inoke Malo. Ramos dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Malo dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Malo is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Luis Rico, who earned five points and five rebounds.

Garden Grove's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Rancho Alamitos, their win bumped their record up to 7-14.

Garden Grove wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 63-61 defeat against Katella on the 8th. As for Rancho Alamitos, they will venture away from home to face off against Estancia at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Rancho Alamitos is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.7 points per game this season.
