Preview: Hale Eagles vs. Hillman Tigers
After three games on the road, Hale is heading back home. They will take on the Hillman Tigers at 7:20 p.m. on Friday. Hale will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 655th, while Hillman is ranked 259th).
Last Tuesday, Hale ended up a good deal behind Oscoda and lost 45-26. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hale in their matchups with Oscoda: they've now lost three in a row.
Meanwhile, Hillman scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Rogers City, posting a 83-47 win at home. The victory was familiar territory for Hillman who now have seven in a row.
Trenton Taratuta was his usual excellent self, shooting 11-for-16 from downtown and dropping a double-double on 52 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Hillman's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brenden Rouleau, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
Hale's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Hillman, their victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-2.
