Softball Recap: Parker Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Parker dropped their record down to 14-5 on Thursday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins at home. They lost 27-19 to the Minor Tigers. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Wednesday (11), the Thundering Herd still had to take the loss.

Brooke Moss was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with six RBI, four runs, and two stolen bases. Alyssia Buckhana was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs and two stolen bases.

As for Minor, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. Considering they have won eight games by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

On Minor's side, they got a massive performance out of Alana Watkins, who got on base in five of her seven plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and one triple. What's more, Watkins posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Holly Woodbury, who got on base in all six of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Parker will challenge Carver Montgomery at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Thundering Herd are facing the Wolverines at the right time seeing as the Wolverines are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Minor, they will square off against Jackson-Olin at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers will also cruise into their next contest with the timing on their side: the Mustangs will have lost nine straight heading into Monday's matchup.
