Soccer Game Preview: Marion vs. Nettleton

The Marion Patriots will venture away from home to take on the Nettleton Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Marion's offense. They lost 10-0 to Searcy on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Marion can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas soccer rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while Searcy are ranked 25th).

Meanwhile, Nettleton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Valley View, falling 5-1. Nettleton were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 3-0.

Their goal came courtesy of Hutch Bristow, who's now up to five this season.

Nettleton's loss dropped their record down to 3-7-2. As for Marion, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-11-1.

Marion couldn't quite get it done against Nettleton in their previous meeting back in March as they fell 2-0. Can the Patriots avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
