Basketball Recap: Crestview Piles Up the Points Against Van Wert

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Crestview on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew the Van Wert Cougars out of the water with a 48-18 final score. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 26 points or more this season.

Crestview was led to victory by Ellie Kline and Kennedy Crider. Kline went 7 of 13 en route to 21 points, while Crider almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Kline has scored at least a third of Crestview's points. Kaci Gregory was another key player, putting up four points.

Crestview was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Van Wert only posted five assists.

Van Wert lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Katie Deamicis, who posted seven points.

Crestview pushed their record up to 15-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points per game. As for Van Wert, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crestview has already played their next matchup (against Jefferson), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Van Wert will be playing at home against Memorial at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Memorial has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
