Basketball Preview: Deer Trail Eagles vs. Byers Bulldogs
Deer Trail is 0-9 against the Bulldogs since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Deer Trail Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Byers Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Deer Trail will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 337th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 109th).
Last Tuesday, Deer Trail was beaten by the Eagles 79-19. Deer Trail was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-9.
They used a three-pronged attack on offense:
Ivan Paredes,
Lance Reed, and
Aiden Coetzee posted four points each.
Meanwhile, Byers came up short against the Eagles on Friday and fell 62-51.
This is the second loss in a row for Deer Trail and nudges their season record down to 2-12. As for Byers, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.
Deer Trail took a serious blow against the Bulldogs when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 56-15. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Deer Trail was down 32-7.
