Basketball Recap: St. Augustine Triumphs

St. Augustine won the last time they faced Providence Catholic and things went their way on Saturday too. The St. Augustine Knights came out on top against the Providence Catholic Provets by a score of 51-40.

Several Provets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sophia Navarijo, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Isabella Otero was another key player, putting up eight points.

St. Augustine's victory bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Providence Catholic, they are on a 42-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-25.

St. Augustine didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 41-38 defeat against Saint Mary's Hall on the 22nd. As for Providence Catholic, they will welcome St. Augustine at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
