Basketball Game Preview: Douglass Eagles vs. Patterson Mill

The Douglass Eagles and Patterson Mill will round out the year against one another at at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Douglass knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully Patterson Mill likes a good challenge.

If Douglass beats Patterson Mill with 73 points on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Douglass strolled past North Point with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 73-58.

Douglass' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ami Rios led the charge by putting up 11 points and five steals. Another player making a difference was Jelani Lee, who went 5 of 11 en route to 13 points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Patterson Mill put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Havre de Grace 67-41. Given Patterson Mill's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 25th, while Havre de Grace is ranked 105th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Douglass' record now sits at 6-1. As for Patterson Mill, their record is now 5-0.
