Recap: Lafayette Christian Cougars vs. Trinity Christian School of Griffin LIONS
After a string of five wins, the Lafayette Christian Cougars's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 72-62 to Trinity Christian School of Griffin. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, Lafayette Christian still got an impressive performance from Bruno Tellez, who scored 34 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Tellez is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last 18 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Zapata, who scored 16 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Lafayette Christian's loss dropped their record down to 16-7. As for Trinity Christian School of Griffin, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.
Lafayette Christian is on the road again on Monday and plays Covington Academy on February 12th. Lafayette Christian has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,121 points over their last 15 matches. Trinity Christian School of Griffin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
