Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hill Country Christian School of Austin). They managed a 33-27 win over the New Braunfels Christian Academy Wildcats on Friday. This was payback for the Knights, who suffered a 34-31 loss the last time these two teams met.

Hill Country Christian School of Austin's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jack Young, who threw for 236 yards and two TDs while completing 88.9% of his passes, and also rushed for 38 yards and one score. Another rusher making a difference was Hunter Hokr, who gained 97 total yards and two touchdowns.

Hill Country Christian School of Austin didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ty Vacek and Canon Conner.

The win snapped Hill Country Christian School of Austin's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-3 record. As for New Braunfels Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hill Country Christian School of Austin will face off against Somerset Academy Collegiate at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will be up against the Bears' rather soft defense (which has allowed 54.2 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for New Braunfels Christian Academy, they will challenge Geneva at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30.17 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
