Basketball Recap: McKinley Comes Up Short

McKinley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by the McDonald Blue Devils 66-28. If the Trojans were looking for revenge after losing 62-35 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

McDonald's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Anthony Larson led the charge by going 6 for 10 on his way to 16 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Joey Cappuzzello, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 12 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

McKinley's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for McDonald, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.

McKinley and Springfield will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for McDonald, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 56-47 victory against Western Reserve on the 19th.
