Baseball Recap: Riviera Prep Takes a Loss

Riviera Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 13-3 to the Miami Country Day Spartans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-8 back in February.

Jesus Leandro made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole three bases.

Riviera Prep's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Miami Country Day, their win bumped their record up to 5-12.

Coming up, Riviera Prep will be taking part in a tournament against Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Stallions have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season. As for Miami Country Day, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 16-1 defeat against Marathon on the 9th.
