It was a good run, but Lincoln unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Saturday. They came up short against the Englewood Pirates, falling 8-1. The Lancers were red-hot at the plate heading into the contest (they scored no less than ten runs in the six matches prior), but the Pirates' pitchers proved too tough.

Lincoln saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jose Bustos, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Lincoln's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Englewood, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lincoln will welcome Bruce Randolph at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Grizzlies have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.5 runs per game on average), something the Lancers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Englewood, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Fort Lupton at 4:00 p.m. The Bluedevils have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.83 runs per game on average), something the Pirates will no doubt try to take advantage of.
