Basketball Game Preview: St. Andrew's Highlanders vs. Episcopal School of Dallas Eagles

The St. Andrew's Highlanders will challenge the Episcopal School of Dallas Eagles at 7:05 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in St. Andrew's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Episcopal School of Dallas has been banged up by eight consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.

Last Tuesday, St. Andrew's was able to grind out a solid win over Cornerstone Christian, taking the game 60-48. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Highlanders' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 295th, while the Warriors are ranked 109th).

St. Andrew's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Coleman Elkins led the charge by dropping a double-double on 23 points and 12 boards. The matchup was Elkins' fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Buchunam, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 17 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Episcopal School of Dallas suffered their biggest loss since November 25, 2024 on Saturday. They lost 54-32 to Greenhill.

St. Andrew's has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.4 points per game. As for Episcopal School of Dallas, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-13.
