Baseball Recap: Great Bridge Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Great Bridge couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Cox Falcons by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. Having soared to a lofty 19 runs in the game before, the Wildcats couldn't push the score so high this time.

Great Bridge saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaxen Whitehurst, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base.

Great Bridge's defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-7. As for Cox, their win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-3.

As of now, neither Great Bridge nor the Falcons have any future games scheduled.
