Softball Recap: Manchester Gets the Win

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Manchester ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Southwood Knights 8-7. This was payback for the Squires, who suffered a 10-7 defeat the last time these two teams met.

The team relied heavily on Ava Sautter, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Hadley West, who went 2-for-5 with two RBI and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Manchester kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive contests.

Manchester's record now sits at 6-13. As for Southwood, their record is now 12-7.

Manchester wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 5-2 win against Bluffton on the 19th. As for Southwood, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 4-3 victory against Wabash on the 20th.
