Basketball Recap: Whitehorse's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

After flying high against Pinnacle last Thursday, Whitehorse came back down to earth. The Whitehorse Raiders received a blow on Wednesday as they fell 55-39 to the San Juan Broncos. The contest was a 27-27 toss-up at halftime, but the Raiders couldn't quite close it out.

Despite the loss, Whitehorse saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Keiarra Martin posted 23 points.

Khimya Fullwood went supernova for San Juan, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 18 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Fullwood a new career-high in steals (three). Another player making a difference was Hayden Shumway, who had 11 points and six boards.

With the defeat, Whitehorse broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-4. As for San Juan, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-10.

Whitehorse has already played their next matchup, a 75-42 victory against Monticello on the 24th. As for San Juan, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 53-34 loss against Gunnison Valley on the 24th.
