Baseball Recap: Somerset's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Somerset can now relate to. They fell 4-1 to the Punxsutawney Chucks on Monday. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 1-0 to the Chucks when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Braeden Flower spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

With the defeat, Somerset broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 18-3. As for Punxsutawney, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.
