Preview: St. John XXIII Lions vs. Second Baptist Eagles
The St. John XXIII Lions will head out on the road to take on the Second Baptist Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. St. John XXIII has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
On Tuesday, St. John XXIII came up short against Lutheran South Academy and fell 66-53.
Meanwhile, Second Baptist entered their tilt with Fort Bend Christian Academy with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. Second Baptist simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Fort Bend Christian Academy 62-16 on the road. Second Baptist has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 contests by 21 points or more this season.
St. John XXIII has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season. As for Second Baptist, they pushed their record up to 23-9 with that win, which was their seventh straight on the road.
St. John XXIII took a serious blow against Second Baptist in their previous matchup back in January, falling 75-32. Can St. John XXIII avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
