Baseball Recap: Colonie Central Falls Short Against Ranked Ballston Spa

Colonie Central faced Ballston Spa in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Wolfpack fell just short of the Scotties by a score of 2-1. If the Wolfpack were looking for revenge after losing 4-3 to the Scotties when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Colonie Central saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Steven Thomas, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Colonie Central's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Ballston Spa, they pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Colonie Central will face off against Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Wolfpack are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Ballston Spa, they will challenge Guilderland at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Scotties will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: the Flying Dutchmen will have lost three straight heading into Thursday's match.
