Softball Game Preview: Erwin Warriors vs. Enka Jets

Erwin is 0-10 against Enka since April of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Warriors will host the Jets at 6:00 p.m. Erwin has given up an average of 7.2 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Erwin came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against West Henderson, falling 14-3.

Erwin saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cambrie Stevens, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Meanwhile, Enka had already won 12 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it 13 on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Mountaineers a 17-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Jets, who have now won seven contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Enka's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.2 runs on average over those games. As for Erwin, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
