Softball Recap: Heritage Wins Going Away Against South Gwinnett

Heritage won the last time they faced South Gwinnett and things went their way on Thursday too. The Patriots came out on top against the Comets by a score of 16-12. That looming 16-12 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Patriots yet this season.

Madisyn Boston was a standout: she went 2-for-5 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sage Coley, who went 3-for-5 with four runs, one stolen base, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Heritage kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The win made it two in a row for Heritage and bumps their season record up to 3-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for South Gwinnett, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Heritage will take on Archer at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Gwinnett, they will challenge Central Gwinnett at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
