Adam Torres posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Tuesday. He struck out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits (and only one walk), good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. He is becoming a predictor of Heights's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 6-1 (and 7-9 when he doesn't).

Torres' strong effort led Heights over Houston Math Science & Tech and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
