Basketball Game Preview: Pioneer Patriots vs. Vacaville Bulldogs

Pioneer hasn't had much luck against Vacaville recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Pioneer Patriots will head out on the road to square off against the Vacaville Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Pioneer is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Wednesday. They took a 57-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of River City. While the Patriots didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Raiders 19-15 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, Vacaville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 19th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Rodriguez, falling 80-57. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1060th, while the Mustangs are ranked 203rd).

Vacaville's loss dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Pioneer, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-13.

Pioneer and Vacaville were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in December of 2019, but Pioneer came up empty-handed after a 58-57 loss. Can Pioneer avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
