Softball Recap: Jefferson West Extends Home Winning Streak to Seven

Jefferson West barely beat Riley County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Falcons on Monday. That 11 run margin sets a new team best for the Tigers this season.

Harriet Dean made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. That stolen base was her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Joslynn Sutton, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Ashley Moser was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

Jefferson West always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Riley County only posted an OBP of .364.
