Baseball Game Preview: L.W. Higgins Hurricanes vs. Fisher Gators

L.W. Higgins hasn't had much luck against Fisher recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The L.W. Higgins Hurricanes will take on the Fisher Gators in a tournament on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Fisher will be up against a hot L.W. Higgins squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. L.W. Higgins walked away with an 11-6 win over Jena on Friday.

Meanwhile, Fisher got the win against John Ehret on Wednesday by a conclusive 15-5. The Gators haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Tyler Mike made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Mike was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-5.

In other batting news, Fisher let Charles Shamp and Cameron Doucet loose on the outfield. Shamp scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances, while Doucet scored a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Braden Gaspard, who scored two runs and stole two bases.

Fisher's win bumped their record up to 2-0-1. As for L.W. Higgins, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

L.W. Higgins suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to Fisher in their previous meeting back in March of 2023. Can L.W. Higgins avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
