Baseball Recap: Laurel Hill Comes Up Short

Laurel Hill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They came up short against the Ponce De Leon Pirates, falling 8-2. The Hoboes were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Pirates earlier this season, when they won 15-2.

Laurel Hill saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Weston Graves, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Laurel Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Ponce De Leon, they pushed their record up to 9-5 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Laurel Hill will be playing at home against Bethlehem at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.13 runs per game on average), something the Hoboes will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Ponce De Leon, they will head out on the road to square off against Rocky Bayou Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
