Football Game Preview: West Grand Mustangs vs. Soroco Rams + How To Watch

West Grand has gone a perfect 9-0 against Soroco recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Mustangs will head out to challenge the Rams at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (West Grand has five straight victories, Soroco has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

West Grand is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Rangely: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Mustangs blew the Panthers out of the water with a 52-6 final score. Considering the Mustangs have won three contests by more than 41 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Landon Lockhart had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 178 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.4 yards per carry, and also picking up 49 receiving yards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 104 rushing yards per game. Jake Trail was another key player, gaining 82 total yards and three touchdowns.

West Grand didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Rangely to a completion percentage of just 35%. The Mustangs hasn't an opponent to post a completion percentage of 0.19 or higher in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Soroco had to suffer through a 42-8 loss at the hands of Vail Christian.

Soroco's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for West Grand, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

Everything came up roses for West Grand against Soroco when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 48-8 victory. In that matchup, the Mustangs amassed a halftime lead of 42-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
