The Lincoln Railsplitters are taking a road trip to square off against the Mahomet-Seymour Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Lincoln fell victim to Pontiac and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indians. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Railsplitters' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Mahomet-Seymour made easy work of Danville on Monday and carried off a 10-1 victory.

Kate Severns spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits.

At the plate, Ainsley Whitaker was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Presley Cox was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Mahomet-Seymour was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Danville only posted a batting average of .200.

Lincoln has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-16 record this season. As for Mahomet-Seymour, their win bumped their record up to 14-16.

Everything went Lincoln's way against Mahomet-Seymour in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as Lincoln made off with an 11-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Railsplitters since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
