Recap: Blacklick Valley Vikings vs. Conemaugh Valley Blue Jays
The Blacklick Valley Vikings lost against the Conemaugh Valley Blue Jays two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Blacklick Valley took a hard 64-49 fall against Conemaugh Valley. While losing is never fun, Blacklick Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 301st, while Conemaugh Valley is ranked 87th).
Blacklick Valley lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Gino DiPaolo, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for him. Brayden Brown was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Blacklick Valley's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Conemaugh Valley, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Blacklick Valley will be home for the holidays to greet Glendale at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Conemaugh Valley won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Conemaugh Township at 7:15 p.m. on December 19th. Conemaugh Township has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 333 points over their last five games.
