Baseball Recap: Washington Gets the Win

While Washington's victory against Balboa wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Washington narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Balboa 5-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 16-0 on March 6th.

Allan Au was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Nick Wilson was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. Washington is 3-1 when Wilson posts two or more runs, but 1-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Tasso Tourlos, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Washington's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Balboa, they dropped their record down to 0-6 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Washington will have a chance to go back-to-back against Balboa: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
