Baseball Recap: Marion Center Stingers vs. Purchase Line Red Dragons
Marion Center had lost five straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 2-12 to make it six. They fell 10-7 to the Purchase Line Red Dragons. The Stingers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Dragons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.
As for Purchase Line, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-10 record this season. Ten seems to be a good number for they as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.
For Purchase Line's part, Devlan Kordish made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Purchase Line is 2-1 when Kordish allows three or fewer hits, but 3-9 otherwise. Kordish was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.
