Softball Recap: San Ramon Valley Wolves vs. Livermore Cowboys

While San Ramon Valley couldn't quite beat Livermore on Tuesday, the two-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the eight-point defeat they were dealt last Saturday. The San Ramon Valley Wolves fell just short of the Livermore Cowboys by a score of 6-4. San Ramon Valley was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Livermore apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

Sophia Jin was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Even though they lost, San Ramon Valley didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with ten strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Livermore only tossed six.

On Livermore's side, Kaci Norton tossed a big game, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits.

On the hitting side, Annie Polaski was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Laine Macosky, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

San Ramon Valley dropped their record down to 7-7 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Livermore, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.

San Ramon Valley will be playing at home against Amador Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Amador Valley's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so San Ramon Valley's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
