Baseball Recap: Heritage Academy Takes a Loss

Heritage Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 12-7 to Lake Cormorant.

Heritage Academy saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nash McCrary, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two doubles. The dominant performance gave McCrary a new career-high in hits. Another was Gavin Elliott, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Heritage Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Lake Cormorant, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-3.

Coming up, Heritage Academy will take on Lawrence County in a tournament on Tuesday. Heritage Academy has given up an average of 8.5 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Lake Cormorant, they will take on Tishomingo County at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
