Recap: Bridge to Independence Wildcats vs. Spruce Creek Hawks
The Bridge to Independence Wildcats pushed their score all the way to 61 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 65-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Spruce Creek. Bridge to Independence has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jvarius Gibson, who scored 21 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Jaydan Jeantinord, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Bridge to Independence has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season. As for Spruce Creek, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bridge to Independence's road trip will continue as they head out to face North Kissimmee Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. North Kissimmee Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten games -- so hopefully Bridge to Independence likes a good challenge. As for Spruce Creek, they will head out on the road to square off against University at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. University is on a six-game streak of home losses, Spruce Creek a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
