Basketball Recap: Geneva Takes a Loss

Geneva suffered their closest defeat since December 13, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of the Lyons Lions by a score of 57-54. The Panthers were probably out for revenge after losing 55-49 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Geneva's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Lyons, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3.

Geneva and Lyons should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps New York Rankings. Geneva (ranked 162nd) will meet Penn Yan Academy (ranked 702nd) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Lyons will challenge Sodus at 7:00 p.m. on February 13th up 393 places (153 vs. 546).
