Soccer Game Preview: Sweetwater vs. Mount Miguel

The Sweetwater Red Devils will head out to square off against the Mount Miguel Matadors at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Sweetwater is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.7 goals per game this season.

Sweetwater is headed into the matchup having not lost since December 17 and will look to keep things rolling. They had just enough and edged Guajome Park Academy out 2-1. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but the Red Devils were the better team in the second half.

Giovanni Aceves and Faisal Musah Muhama scored both of Sweetwater's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 17 goals.

Meanwhile, Mount Miguel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Grossmont.

Sweetwater is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2-4 record this season. As for Mount Miguel, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7-2.

Everything went Sweetwater's way against Mount Miguel in their previous matchup back in December of 2016, as Sweetwater made off with a 3-0 victory. Will Sweetwater repeat their success, or does Mount Miguel have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
