Baseball Recap: Menomonie Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Menomonie's offense. They came up short against the Eau Claire Memorial Old Abes on Friday, falling 6-0. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Old Abes recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Menomonie saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Charlie Mikesell, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Menomonie's loss dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Eau Claire Memorial, their win bumped their record up to 6-9.

Coming up, Menomonie will head out to challenge River Falls at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Eau Claire Memorial, they will face off against Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Red Raiders' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Old Abes' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
