Volleyball Recap: Weeping Water Comes Up Short

Weeping Water was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Auburn Bulldogs. If the Indians were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Taylor Brack paced Weeping Water's offense, picking up four kills. Brack got some help from Ella Huskey and her eight assists. Huskey was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Emma Hyde was nothing short of spectacular for Auburn: she had 23 assists and five aces. Those five aces gave Hyde a new career-high.

Weeping Water's loss dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Auburn, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-4.

Weeping Water has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Cedar Bluffs on the 27th. As for Auburn, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Douglas County West on the 27th.
