Recap: Iroquois Braves vs. North East Grape Pickers
It was a good run, but the Iroquois Braves unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They were the victim of a tough 49-26 defeat at the hands of North East. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Iroquois has scored all season.
Several Braves players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cole Bennett, who scored four points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Devin Brink, who scored four points along with five rebounds.
Iroquois struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Iroquois' loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for North East, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.
Iroquois will play host again and welcome Fairview, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday. North East and Northwestern will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Northwestern is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
