The Ashley Screaming Eagle will face off against the New Hanover Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Ashley played in conference for the first time on Tuesday and they got just the result they we're looking for. They came out on top against West Brunswick by a score of 44-37.

Jaeden Hudson was nothing short of spectacular: she went 9 for 18 on her way to 26 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Those 26 points gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Palyn Everhart, who posted three points and five steals.
Meanwhile, New Hanover entered their tilt with North Brunswick on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They really took it to the Scorpions for the full four quarters, racking up a 48-17 win. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 26-4.
New Hanover's win came from a few key players Ashley will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Maleah Moses Braxton, who put up six points along with 12 boards and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Zirhe Sellers, who had eight points in addition to 13 rebounds and three blocks.
New Hanover was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
New Hanover has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Ashley, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Ashley has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 26.1 boards per game. However, it's not like New Hanover struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31.1 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Ashley might still be hurting after the 53-30 defeat they got from New Hanover in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of New Hanover's Londyn Doughty, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.
