Warren East waltzed into their match on Monday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Bowling Green Purples 5-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-4 back in March.

The team relied heavily on Kennedy Lawson, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Jones, who earned one run and four stolen bases.

Warren East's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Bowling Green, their loss dropped their record down to 12-10-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Warren East will challenge Edmonson County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bowling Green, they will host South Warren at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Purples will need to watch out since the Spartans have now posted at least ten runs in their last six contests.
