Basketball Game Preview: Springdale Prep Lions vs. New Town

The Springdale Prep Lions and New Town will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Springdale Prep has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Springdale Prep is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Green Street Academy 85-24 on Friday. With the Lions ahead 50-9 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Abi Stem and Maddie Poole were among the main playmakers for Springdale Prep as the former posted 19 points and the latter put up 17 points. That's the most points Stem has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Maddie Sellers, who earned 12 points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, New Town strolled past Eastern Tech with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 54-35. The victory made it back-to-back wins for New Town.

Springdale Prep is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-13 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.4 points per game. As for New Town, the victory got them back to even at 5-5-1.
