Basketball Recap: Athens Comes Up Short

Athens was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against the Loyal Greyhounds, falling 48-27. The Bluejays were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Greyhounds apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Athens' loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Loyal, their victory bumped their record up to 7-9.

Athens will take on Assumption at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Assumption's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matches. As for Loyal, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 59-24 defeat against Stratford on the 4th.
