Volleyball Recap: Spanish Fork's Loss Ends Eight-Game Winning Streak on the Road

After flying high against North Sanpete on Monday, Spanish Fork came back down to earth. The Dons fell 3-1 to the Wasatch Wasps on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wasps this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.

While Spanish Fork had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-20, 19-25, 25-19.

Kono Naulu and Mason Swenson certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Naulu had 15 assists and four digs, while Swenson had 15 assists.

Spanish Fork's defeat ended an eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-10. As for Wasatch, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.

Spanish Fork didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Bingham on the 25th. As for Wasatch, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Maple Mountain on the 1st.
